Our Lady of Grace has stood at the heart of Catholic life in Charlton since 1906. Parishioners come from Ireland and Nigeria, the Caribbean and the Philippines, from across Africa, Europe, and Asia, one congregation in faith, hope, and love. The parish is a spiritual home for those who believe and a welcoming door for those who are searching.
The parish is served by the Spiritans (the Congregation of the Holy Ghost and the Immaculate Heart of Mary), an international missionary congregation founded in Paris in 1703 and entrusted with this parish since April 2012.
If you are new to the parish, introduce yourself to one of the priests after Mass. Refreshments are served in the Parish Hall after the 10 am Sunday Mass on most Sundays.
On Fridays during term time, the parish primary school holds class Masses; infant classes celebrate Mass in school. All are welcome.

One of the earliest reinforced concrete churches in England, designed by a Bordeaux architect for sisters in exile.
Read the story →Our church is one of the earliest reinforced concrete churches in England, standing beside Highcombe House, a Grade II listed Regency villa. The Archdiocese of Southwark has accepted ownership of the church, and a programme of restoration is now in formation.
The Our Lady of Grace Parish Buildings Preservation Trust was established by parishioners in May 2025 and undertook the foundational work that helped secure the future of the church. Its continuing focus is the adjacent buildings of the precinct and the wider heritage of the site.
